Committed to the future

07/2026

Founded in 1854 as a carpet store by Leopold Schoeller in Düren, in the Rhineland – today, for over 170 years, we have stood for innovation, design, and shaping the future of textiles.

What set us apart back then continues to define us today: foresight, a spirit of experimentation, and the commitment not simply to furnish spaces, but to bring them to life. From the very beginning, we were among the pioneers of the industry – from printed carpets using Whytock’s warp-dyeing process to broadloom carpets and tufting, all the way to furnishing ships, trains, and even zeppelins.

Throughout our history, we’ve had the privilege of helping to shape milestones:

  • Co-founder of GUT and Domotex
  • Collaboration with Bauhaus artists
  • Production of the carpet for the German Pavilion at EXPO 1958 in Brussels
  • Development of design classics such as Perlon Rips
  • Furnishing of the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin
  • Development of a compressed-air carpet system for the German Bundestag
  • First use of Econyl® in textile flooring

And yet, today more than ever, the following remains true for us: standing still has never been part of our history. We believe that innovation, sustainability, and design go hand in hand—and that textile flooring solutions can be more than just a product: namely, long-lasting companions for modern living and working spaces.

Since 1854.
And committed to the future.
