REFERENCE REPORT
MAN Group headquarters Munich
Once it became clear that the old MAN headquarters …
… in Munich’s Schwabing district was no longer fit for purpose, the leading mechanical engineering company decided to rebuild it.
In line with the plans produced by architectural firm DMP Architekten, about half of the old building was demolished, completely rebuilt and skilfully extended. The result is a holistic and tranquil structure that exudes sophisticated reserve by virtue of its independent design style.
The architectural understatement continues throughout the building’s interior. When it came to choosing the flooring, it was soon clear that only a customised design would do. Working closely with the architects, ANKER developed an unmistakable carpet design in high print quality that was perfectly tailored to the building and those who use it: the exclusive ANKER OFFICE 1050 collection.
The all-over pattern is a kind of hatching that lends the flooring vivid contrasts and that has been finely matched to the surrounding colours and materials found on the building and furnishings; as it comes in various shades of red, it harmonises perfectly with the corporate identity.
