Since 1957, military chaplaincy has supported soldiers in their matters of faith and has been available to them for pastoral care and crisis counseling – regularly at the respective national and international bases of the German Armed Forces as well as during overseas deployments. The administration of approximately 100 Protestant military chaplaincies with their clergy is handled by the Protestant Church Office for the German Armed Forces (EKA) in Berlin. In addition to personnel matters, interdisciplinary services are also developed here in cooperation with family support centers as well as the social and psychological services of the German Armed Forces. Furthermore, the EKA serves as the seat of the Protestant military bishop.

Since the building's facilities had become dated, they were fundamentally renovated. Regarding the textile flooring in the offices and corridors, as well as on the stairs, those responsible chose BAROLO and PERLON RIPS from ANKER. Two robust, durable carpets with character – and ideally suited for stair treads as well as for the junction between textile flooring and hard floors.

The weaving classic PERLON RIPS (here in the color Gray Mouse, 053) not only withstands the high mechanical loads on stairs thanks to its durability. It also ensures – like the tufted frieze velour carpet BAROLO in an elegant blue tone (307) – the required dimensional stability at transitions to non-textile flooring. Over an area of 1,000 m², both carpets blend discreetly into the spatial conditions, thereby creating a comfortable atmosphere in the office building.
