REFERENCE REPORT
Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin

The New National Gallery Berlin is a style icon …
… of classical modernism. Opened in 1968 and designed by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the building is characterised above all by the creative interplay of glass, steel and concrete.
It may come as a surprise that ANKER carpeting is also used as a design element in such a place. But only at first glance.
Located in the heart of Berlin, not far from Potsdamer Platz, it is considered a landmark of modern architecture: the Neue Nationalgalerie. Opened in 1968 after three years of construction, it is dedicated to the visual arts of the 20th century.
The building bears the signature of the renowned German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The concept was based on clear structures, spacious premises and the creative interplay of glass, steel and concrete. His vision: to create spaces in which art can be fully appreciated and unfold its effect undisturbed.
